PRINCE ALBERT CHARLES HONORE MONACO DIES FOLLOWING
OPERATION

Paris—Prince Albert Honore Charles of Monaco
principality died today following an operation.
Albert Honore Charles
ruler of the little principality of Monaco, was distinguished as an Explorer
and Scientist and his aquarium on the promontory overlooking the famous
gambling Casino of Monte Carlo was perhaps the best in the world.
Subjects of Monaco were
devoted to their Prince who in his turned devoted his resources to the welfare
of his little possession.
There are no taxes to
pay in Monaco proceeds from the gambling halls of Monte Carlo furnishings all
funds necessary for the running and beautifying of the little principality.
Prince Albert was 74
years old, recently underwent a serious operation.
His son Louis II, Prince
of Monaco by his first marriage to Lady Mary Douglas Hamilton succeeds him.
Prince Louis is 52 years
old and a [?] of France by virtue of his serving during the war in the Armies
of the adjacent republic.
Since the serious
illness of the Prince diplomats’ all over Europe been talking of the
probability of Monaco will become a province of France when Louis becomes
ruler.
